Project "40+08" is an innovative art and culture  project which draws its format from projects like "48 Hour Film" that operates in the field of cinema, "14/48 Project" which belongs to the field theater and "48 hours" in the field of dance. Using all the existing formats to apply and converts it into the  field of visual arts. “project 40+08” will emphasize the intuitive and spontaneous creative process. Taking the artist outside of the studio and the known comfort zone and into a new and exciting  artistic adventure. The artists will work in groups, in a format that examines dynamics, connections, mutual fertilization and joint work.

As part of the project, 16 artists, designers and performers from various fields (plastic art, industrial design, dance, music, graphic design,  and more) will meet for the first time and will be divided into four working groups. Each group will receive a defined space in the streets of the Old City, a budget and 48 hours to create. After the 48 hours are up, the outcome will be presented as part of "The Southern Light " ("HAZOHAR HADROMI") light festival.

The project is an independent initiative, ant it's being supported by Beer-Sheva municipality, Kivunim, Montreal Jewish Federatoin and Be'er Sheva's Old City Administration.
